The seasons are changing and so are our Community Education Classes.

The wellbeing of our patrons is of the utmost importance. We understand that the situation with Coronavirus, or COVID-19, continues to evolve. Our organization has been monitoring the situation as presented by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

All-Occasion Cards

Make approximately 15 (more if we’ve got the time!) greeting cards (birthday, thank you, sympathy, etc) using stamps and inks. Learn many techniques such as layering, masking, applying embellishments, and more. You’ll leave class with a handful of cards (with envelopes) that friends and family will LOVE to find in their mailboxes!

Supplies To Bring To Class: Adhesive (glue stick or double sided tape) and scissors.

Watercolor Lantern Painting

Instructor will walk students step-by-step through a watercolor painting of a lantern. Students will use a variety of techniques including wet into wet, dry brush, splattering, and salt. Students will walk away with a completed painting. Instructor will provide Arches Watercolor paper, paints, brushes, and water cups. Students are welcome to bring their own supplies if they wish.

Beginning Crocheting 101

Come learn the very basics of crocheting right handed. We will learn and practice how to hold the hook, hold the yarn, and work with tension. We will also learn and practice how to chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet.

Supplies To Bring To Class: 100% cotton yarn (Sugar and Cream brand is a good choice), and a Size F crochet hook.

Beginning Crocheting 102

Must have completed the Beginning Crochet Class 101 or have prior crocheting knowledge Do you need a refresher course on your crocheting skills? Let’s brush up on the few basics and we will start a small project.

Ukrainian Eggs

Create beautiful heirlooms with this wax resist method of decorating eggs. Students will leave class with finished eggs and all the supplies needed to decorate more eggs at home.

Age Group: HS Junior – Adults

Cost: $35.00 or $25.00 if you are repeating the class and bring your own Kiska, bees wax, and drying stand.

Simplicity Basket

This is a lovely, clean line basket that can be used for fruit, baby’s breath etc. Basket measures 6 ½“ high, base of 7 ¾”, height with handle is 13”.

Bird Sitter Basket

This is a tall artistic basket with feet. It measures approximately 6 ½” by 7” by 12 1/2” tall (20” with handle). You have a choice of embellishments.

Curly Cutie Basket

This is a 6” by 6 ½” woven basket that flares out and shapes back in to give it a stylish look! Curls added gives it a unique look.

Beginning Sewing – 1-Hour Table Runner

Are you interested in learning the basics of sewing? Let me get you started on the right path to being a new seamstress. You will learn the parts of the sewing machine, the different sewing tools and how they are used and different sewing terms. You will practice sewing basic stitches and finishing stitches. You will learn to cut out a pattern and complete a simple seasonal table runner.

Supplies To Bring To Class: Sewing machine in working order, scissors, seam ripper, tape measure, and pins, 45” wide 100% cotton fabric, .625 yard for backing and front border, .334 yard for center strip, matching thread, and 2 coordinating buttons.

Beginning Sewing – Hobo Cross Over Bag

Are you interested in learning the basics of sewing? Let me get you started on the right path to being a new seamstress. You will learn the parts of the sewing machine, various sewing tools and how they are used and sewing terms. You will practice sewing basic stitches.

Supplies To Bring To Class: Sewing machine in working order, scissors, seam ripper, tape measure, and large glass head straight pins. Pattern supplied by instructor, 45” wide cotton fabric, one yard each of 2 different contrasting fabrics, and thread.
